Dan's Kidney

Postoperative Day 1

Sandy is doing very well. We wheeled her over to the ICU to see Dan today. Hopefully she will start getting de-accessorized soon (fewer IV's, tubes, lines, etc). Dan really looks great. He states that he definitely feels better than before surgery. His vital signs look good, and his kidney function tests have improved tremendously. He is now undergoing the post-surgical treatments to improve the kidney's chance of survival. Dan told me that just the outpouring of support from friends and family has made the whole experience worthwhile.

Good to hear one of the twins is mobile again and that Dan feels better than before the surgery. Could someone clear up the whole left v. right thing for me. Sandy may remember that I have a problem with that concept, anyway. Best to all.

Dan, our prayers and thoughts are with you. Hang in there and keep improving. Rehab may be the hardest part that you have to go through, but my experience is that it's also the most rewarding. Take Care, Ed and Vicki Greivel

One certainly can't keep you two down once you have been on the farm "harvesting kidneys". Bravo for the two of you, your surgeons and the entire medical support team! mcm
