Home Again

We just got home from a 6 day trip to Chicago to see the kids. We had a good time spending time with the family...attending a basketball game and a gymnastics practice and just hanging out with the family.

We also spent one day in the city....we rode the Metra and went to the Chicago Institute of Art, one of Sandy's favorite galleries, and saw the special Edward Hopper show. We met David for lunch downtown......he had just found out that he had won a big settlement for his client Black and Decker. By the time we rode back home, I was pretty gassed out.

Dialysis went O.K. , it was the first time I have had done it outside of Kearney.....but I'm very happy to be home for today's treatment.

Things have been going well, but I certainly hope that my wait on the transplant list is getting shorter. For those of you unfamiliar with the process, the recipient never knows where he is on the list....when you get the call it is a complete surprise.

Hey Dude:
Great to hear that you are able to get out and travel again! We're done with basketball for the year now and I'm starting to look forward to the car racing season and the Farmers Market will open May Day so I will be getting busy.
Hope that things continue to improve and that you get to the top of the list soon, you most certainly deserve it.
We survived the 7 inches of rain in good shape here, although the sump pump ran almost continously for a day or so. A lot of flooding around though.
Check in with you later,
Jamie

Hey you two gadabouts. Sounds like you are getting the travel situation figured out. Glad to hear you got to spend time with your family. Grandkids make it all worthwhile. Hope you get that surprise call soon.

I spent last week in Maryland with Brandon who will be out of the ARMY in a couple months. Five years went by fast. (Although that isn't exactly true, but it is nearly finished--Hooray!)

Take care and Hi to Sandy, too!

Hello,

Just a line to tell you that we are all still pulling and praying you get that new kidney sooner rather than later. Our son Joe just told us he is the person the transplant team here tapped on the shoulder to give one of his kidneys to his mother-in-law. we are proud that he wants to do this for her and apprehensive at the same time.
Sharon has been a diabetic since she was 19 and diagnosed on her honeymoon(what a wedding gift). She had no ill affects until two years ago when the kidneys started to fail. She is a sweet woman and is a real fighter. She baby sits our two youngest grandsons ages 2 and 9 months for about four hours each day. We hope and pray that her
transplant will go smoothly.
